Yesterday, as I was leaving to go outside in the 34 degree May morning, I sarcastically told Lionel that I wanted to move to Alaska. When he asked why, I told him I had to assume it was warmer there. Alaska is known to be cold, right? Short summers, tundra, polar bears, that kind of thing.
Then I got curious as I am wont to do, and found out that Alaska really is warmer than it is here. Observe:

versus:

Now to be fair Alaska is about 90 (give or take a few 100) times larger than New Hampshire, and Anchorage, while perhaps the best known city in Alaska, is probably not indicative of the rest of the state, at least not in the weather, tundra or polar bears department. But today I choose to believe that the whole of Alaska is warmer than it is right here. This way I can prove that some jealous god is out to get me. Which vindicates me on all sorts of levels.
It makes sense, really. Trust me.
BTW, Mom was asking us the other day what position you play in softball. We
just kinda shrugged and had to admit we didn't know. What DO you play?
